Eight years in the heart of Ōtautahi
Almost a decade ago, we established our second studio in Christchurch and have recently moved into the central city to continue being part of Christchurch’s rebuild. We're loving being close to our clients, collaborators and the everyday life of the CBD. We’ve watched the city grow back with intent: from large anchor projects to a genuine shift toward well‑designed medium density living.
With Te Kaha nearing completion, a 30,000‑capacity, fully‑roofed stadium due to open in April, the events spine through the city is about to strengthen again.
Christchurch is also growing steadily and densifying smartly. Canterbury led Aotearoa’s regional growth in 2025 and Christchurch now has the country’s highest share of townhouse/flat dwellings, evidence that compact, well‑located homes are becoming the norm here.
Our Part in This Story?
Pynenburg & Collins Architects has spent recent years collaborating with developers, delivering medium‑density housing that fits their brand and budgets - from feasibility and massing through to resource and building consents, and into delivery. We focus on intelligent planning, efficient use of space and disciplined architectural detailing.
Here’s to the next chapter - bringing more people into the heart of the city and continuing to grow Christchurch and wider Canterbury.
