Brilliant architecture is the difference between a house and home

Between an office and where you do your best work.

Brilliant architecture can raise a family and bring together an entire community.

It’s equal parts function, form and feeling. The feeling that this space was built for you—that it was created with your needs, your location, and the natural surroundings in mind. It’s striking a strong balance between a built-for-purpose solution, manifested in a beautiful space, that creates the environment you want to inhabit. From a sun-splashed kitchen meant for hosting, to an off-the-grid back country hut nestled and one with its wild backdrop. Our brilliant comes from years of experience across all disciplines.

SO, WHATS YOUR BRILLIANT?

Cunningham Terrace, Lyttelton

This new house for a young family replaces their previous 100-year-old home damaged beyond repair by the Christchurch earthquakes. After five years of living in a cold, broken home, they came to us with some very clear objectives. They wanted a warm, dry home, fully sealed from Lyttelton harbour's cold southerly winds, with spaces that maximised the sun on the south-facing site.

“Everyone has a different version of their best space – there’s no one answer. For me it’s feeling safe and comfortable. I want to help others find theirs; a place where they can grow.”

Ken Collins, Director, PCA
